On June 9, 2011, Carville Job Corps Students and staff participated in a Workplace Skills Workshop, “Hired today…Fired Tomorrow…”, presented by Mrs. Deborah Cross from the LSU AG Center. Mrs. Cross presented the skills needed for reliable job performance which includes: Utilizing Resources, Working with Others, Using Information, Understanding Systems, and Working with Technology. Mrs. Cross also presented the Three Part Foundation of Skills (Basic Skills, Thinking Skills, and Personal Qualities). Carville students had an opportunity to receive valuable information from a professional on the skills needed to retain employment.
