Carville Job Corps students volunteered with the American Red Cross to assist Louisiana citizens who lost their homes and other possessions by flood waters. The American Red Cross established shelters for affected Louisiana residents throughout the Baton Rouge area. Carville students volunteered at serveral of the shelters assisting with serving meals, coordinating clothing banks, erecting sleeping cots, feeding/walking pets of shelter residents and, assisting as well as paricipating in arts /crafts and games for the children sheltered.
