Three will work at Tennessee correctional facility. Core Civic, a national leader in high quality corrections and detention management, has hired three Carl D. Perkins Job Corps graduates.
Perkins students Ikyra Waters, 21, from Louisville, KY; Paul Rader, 18, from Louisville, KY; and Deanna Donahue, 21, from Portland, Maine, will be working as correctional officers at the Trousdale Correctional Facility in Hendersonville, TN.
Waters completed both the Security & Protective Services program and the Advanced Training Security & Protective Services program at Perkins. She also completed a work-based learning internship with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department and worked security for several community events.
Rader completed the Culinary Arts program at Perkins and one semester at Big Sandy Community & Technical College. He also completed a work-based learning internship at Charleston Job Corps Center.
Donahue completed the Security & Protective Services program at Grafton Job Corps Center in Portland, Maine, before transferring to Perkins for the Advanced Security Program.
