Chanise Gaines, a residential college student at Carl D.Perkins Job Corps Center, was the student speaker at Big Sandy Community and Technical College for Women’s History Month. Chanise, who was just elected the college’s SGA president, shared personal experiences of how she has overcome obstacles. She noted the women role models in her life. Chanise stated that it is time for women to shine in the corporate world and that the days when jobs are handed out solely based on gender are gone. She urged women to strive for continuing education and work as hard as they possibly can.
