On Friday April 15, 2016 the Carl d. Perkins and the Super 8 a Wyndham Hotel signs Work Base Learning (WBL) agreement. the students at Carl D. Perkins in several training areas that include, Facility Maintenance, Office Administration, Security and Culinary arts will be able to gain valuable on the job training with doing internships at the Super 8. General Manager Mr. Jeremiah Parson stated “He knows this will be a valuable partnership for both the hotel and Perkins”. Students will be able to practice their skills learned in the classroom with real life work experience. the students will work with the staff and management at the hotel, just like they where a regular employee. Students are evaluated each week on certain skills, to ensure they master them before leaving the program. Perkins Facilities Maintenance student Timothy Yuhas from Prestonsburg, KY will begin working on at the hotel on April 18. Perkins is looking forward to working with Super 8 and their sister properties around the country.
