Carl D. Perkins students Devonte Lewis, Brittany Blevins, Ines kibukayire, and Jacob Lytle had the opportunity to shadow KY Senator Johnny Ray Turner and KY House Speaker Greg Stumbo during National Job Shadow Week. Students talked with both Stumbo and Turner at length on how they ended p in politics, and what influenced them the most. Students also got to attend various functions in the State Capitol in Frankfort, Ky. All students got to attend the sessions and were recognized on the senate and house floor.

Stumbo a native of Prestonsburg, KY has been al longtime supporter of the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center. He serves as Speaker of the KY House of Representatives.

Johnny Ray Turner from Drift KY, has also been a longtime supported of the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center. He is a member of the KY Senate, representing the 29th District since 2000. He is currently minority Caucus Chair.
