Current students of the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps program enrolled at Big Sandy Community and Technical College earned certificates of achievement for their GPA’s (grade point average). Students enrolled at Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center complete a career plan through MyPace during their first 3 weeks on center called their “Career Preparation Period”. During this time, students choose their ultimate career occupation and create short, mid and long term goals to reach their dream occupation. For many students College is a pathway they choose as a goal to reach their Ultimate Career Occupation. We are honored that for the Spring 2020 semester 4 current college students made the Dean’s List, and 1 student made the Presidents list. By the Big Sandy Community and Technical College standards you must earn a 3.5 GPA to earn the Deans List and a 4.0 GPA (straight A’s) to earn the Presidents list. Congratulations are in order to Robertine Maccius a security graduate pursuing a criminal justice degree for her 4.0 President’s list certificate. Student Government Association President and Security graduate Sean Lyon earned the Dean’s List certificate while pursuing a degree in criminal justice. Office Administration graduate’s Crystyle Worthen, and Emma Helman earned the Dean’s List along with Culinary Arts graduate Brandon Haspel.
