On March 12, Carl D. Perkins students headed out to the Floyd County Head Start classrooms at McDowell and Osborne Schools. Students assisted the young pre-schoolers with a science and math activity. The youngsters had been studying Space throughout the week, Perkins students assisted them in arranging the Planets by size, counting the planets and making their Space book. Ending the activity with open ended questions, to get those communication skills going.
Office Admin students Shemeka Brown, Demetri’-Aime Bein, and Culinary students Simeon Colier and David Oswald, all stated they enjoyed assisting with this activity, and working with the young students. The Perkins students will be going back out in the classrooms on March 24th, to present Multi-Culture Activities for the students.
