Carl D. Perkins Security & Protective students along with BCL help with KY Special Olympics on Saturday November 1st. Twenty-One young men and women were up and ready to board the bus for the drive to the Pin-Zone Bowling Alley on what was a cold, wet and foggy Saturday morning. Students assisted the Olympians by working each lane, and keeping the rotation in check. However, students did more than they will ever know, when they would cheer and encourage the participants. You would see the big smiles of both students and participants, high fives, and pats on the back.
This is the 6th year that the Perkins Center has assisted with the Olympics. Special Olympics works to spread compassion and acceptance in a way that can unite the world. Our goal at Perkins is to teach students to help others by giving back to your community.
