Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Advanced Security students were honored Aug. 15
with a luncheon provided by Big Sandy Community and Technical College in
celebration of their completion of Criminal Justice courses offered through the
college.
Nine Advanced Security trainees completed either or both the Introduction to
Criminal Justice CRJ 100 and Criminal Procedures CRJ 217 courses. The nine
were Zackorie Craney, Jovan Garcia, Cory Hite, Sean Lyon, Robertine
Maccius, Gavin Miller, Seana Woodward, Crystyle Worthen and Clyde
Yauwelmong. These students accrued three credit hours for each course they
completed that can go toward a criminal justice degree. Five students,
Shadrack Hippolyte, Gavin Miller, Robertine Maccius, Sean Lyon and April
Mangelwol, have enrolled at BSCTC to pursue an associate’s degree in
Criminal Justice.
During the luncheon, Tina Terry, the leader of the Multicultural Student
Organization at BSCTC, introduced the students to Savannah Castle from
Bellevue University. Castle shared information about the opportunities
available at Bellevue College with the students.
