Saturday April 16th Carl D. Perkins Security & Protective Services(SPS) provided Event and VIP Security for the Dwight Yokam and Lee Ann Womack Concert, held at the East KY EXPO Center in Pikeville, Ky. Students along with their instructors Beverly Compton, did safety patrols, crowd control, stage presence, VIP escorts to the stage at the event. Students have to have several training hours before they are allowed to go and work events such as these. Students will train on effective communication, team work, crises intervention, patrol principals, professionalism, manners, ethical decision making, codes & ethics just to name a few.

Perkins values their partnership with the East KY EXPO that allows students to work the events and receive this valuable on the job training. Students will be working several other events throughout the Summer Concert Series at the EXPO and throughout Pikeville, KY.
