On February 24 thru the 28th, Carl D. Perkins Security & Protective (SPS) students where hard at work assisting the Floyd County District Tournament venue held at the Prestonsburg High School. . Students worked the tournament each night, taking care of parking, crowd control, directing traffic for teams and hundreds of spectators in and out of the event. Students went to the facility ahead of time with their instructor to map out the area and do pre-event planning. This was a vital part of the students on the job training , in their chosen career path.
Prestonsburg High School’s principal Jerry Butcher stated that ” The Perkins Students, were so impressive with their professional and courteous behavior throughout the week.
