Twenty four Carl D. Perkins Job Corps students and five staff members partnered with the Jenny Wiley State Park March 19, 2011 for the annual Operation Clean Sweep. The CDP team joined hundreds of other local volunteers to clear 16 tons of trash from the state park during a two-day period. Park Naturalist Trinity Shepherd praised the efforts of the center’s students, saying, “I can always depend on a great group of volunteers from Perkins. These young men and women work tirelessly with this initiative every year to help keep this park cleaner and safer for everyone. I can’t thank them enough for the work they do.”
