Carl D.Perkins Job Corps Y2Y students assist with Fathers day event

Youth2Youth student ambassadors from Carl D. Perkins Job Corps celebrated Fathers’ Day a bit early when they assisted the Floyd County Housing Authority with its fourth annual celebration of Fathers and Families on June 16.
Y2Y Student Ambassadors Keana Davis and Melea Whaley talk with guests at the Fathers and Families event.
The event, held at the Warco Housing complex in Langley, KY, included a number of community organizations offering information on heart health, nutrition, free medical services, educational opportunities and more. Guests received goodie bags after presentations. Perkins Job Corps student ambassadors assisted with games for the children and gave out anti-violence information and stress balls to all who attended the event.

The event ended with a cookout, and some cooling off, compliments of the Maytown and Martin fire departments, which sprayed water for all to enjoy.
