Carl D Perkins students and staff participated in the Floyd County Health Departments annual 5K run for Diabetes. Students and staff headed out on Saturday October 10, at 9:00 a.m. for the event. The morning was cool, and perfect running conditions for the group and Perkins Security student William Ortez. Ortez finished in 1st place in his age group. Security Students along with their instructor Ms. Beverly Compton also worked with the Prestonsburg Police Department directing traffic to ensure the safety of the runners.

This is the 3rd year the center has assisted with the race, and this year actually running in the race. The race is sponsored by the Floyd County Health Department and the Floyd County Diabetes Coalition.
