On June 5, 2015, The KY State Police were on center to give presentation on Cyber Security, Forensics, and other career paths in law enforcement. Students in Office Administration (Cyber Security), Security & Protective Services got a hands on presentation. Trooper Steve Mounts and Detective Mike Webb gave presentations using Power Points, finger printing props, Taser simulator, and lecture. Students learned what it takes to be a KY State Trooper, Detective, to work in Forensic Science and Cyber Security.
Trooper Mounts the newest member to the centers industry council, also reviewed the Cyber Security TAR to give suggestions of other skills that need to added and taught. This ensures that students are getting the most updated training and certifications that will lead to employment upon completion of the program.
At the end of the presentation, students were able to ask questions and look at all of the training apparatus that are used at the academy for cadets. Trooper Mounts and Detective Webb, will be working on setting up a field trip for all classes in the fall to the State Crime Lab in Frankfort, Ky.
