Floyd County Emergency response officials along with several other counties participated in a mock earthquake, rupturing a 20-inch gas line near Prestonsburg Elementary School, causing an explosion. Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Security Students assisted with the mock drill, on Wednesday April 5, Students arrived early at the Floyd County Rescue Squad to prepare for the event. Students had fake injuries as part of the drill to be dropped off at area hospitals to test out the emergency room responses.

Drill’s like these, prepares all departments in case of a real emergency. Perkins students was happy to assist with this important training.
