Students from the carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center assisted staff from the Appalachia Hospice in Paintsville, KY on Thursday August 27, 2015, the students where asked if they would help pull weeds, add mulch, to get the memorial garden ready for the many visitors that come each week. The garden was created for families that have lost loved ones. It was to be a place of peace, and remembrance. The students and Carpentry Instructor Brandon Conley have been with the garden from its creation, continuing to work and make improvements almost monthly along with the staff.
“This is a lot more than just pulling weeds, its helping make a place better in a little community, to help brighten someone’s day.” Stated Carpentry Instructor James Conley.
