On Sunday August 16th, the Carl D. Perkins Security & Protective Services students spent their Sunday, doing security for the Travis Tritt concert held at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, Ky. The students along with their instructor Mr. Arron Blevins worked the event form 4-11. Students got to put those classroom skills to good use, especially when they used the VIP escort training they had learned just weeks prior to the event. No other training program, gives students this one of a kind on the job training. Students continue to work in the community on event such as these and other Work Based Learning internships in Floyd, Johnson and Pike Counties. Carl D.
