Carl D. Perkins Job Corps receives proclamation from Floyd County Judge Ben Hale

Carl D. Perkins ready for Y2Y week, with the help of Community members, Local Law enforcement agencies and Floyd County Judge Ex. Ben Hale for signing the Proclamation declaring the week of September 14-18 “Y2Y” week in Floyd County.

On September Floyd County Judge Ben Hale was on the Perkins Job Corps Center for the signing of the proclamation declaring the week of September 14-18 Youth2Youth (Y2Y) Partners 4 Peace week in Floyd County. The proclamation was signed during Center Business Assembly. The center has several activities planned the week of Y2Y, with the KY State Police doing an anti-violence presentation on Wednesday September 16, while on Thursday September 17, Lola Ratliff Safe Schools Coordinator with the Floyd County School System will be giving an anti-bullying drug free presentations. Also on the 17th after the Perkins Community Relations council meeting, community members will be judging the Classroom Door and Dorm decoration contest for the best anti-bullying and anti-violence theme. receives

Perkins has been having activities since August leading up to the Y2Y week. With special guest speakers from the US Army, Vehicle Enforcement, and Prestonsburg City Police. The Prestonsburg City Police where at the center today, assisting in an Active Shooter Drill, along with other safety demonstrations. Carl D. Perkins would like to thank everyone who took part in today’s ceremony and drills.
