Carl D. Perkins Job Corps honored 14 new graduates during commencement ceremonies Jan. 29 at the center. Guest speaker was Terry Compton, an instructor at Paintsville High School, she urged students to never give up on their dreams and to stand up for what they believe in. Following the ceremony, the graduates, their families and guests attended a reception catered by the Culinary Arts program at Carl D. Perkins Job Corps.

For all graduates the commencement exercises marked the completion of one phase of their education and training and the beginning of new paths – either pursuing a career, continuing their education, enrolling in advanced training or enlisting in the military.
