On Aug. 24, 2010, Prestonsburg Mayor Jerry Fannin presented the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center with the “Key to the City” during a student assembly in the center’s gymnasium. Fannin said during his presentation, “I am so proud to be the mayor in a city that has a Job Corps program. I am presenting this key to recognize and commend the students and staff of this center for the charity and volunteer efforts that they perform in our community.”
