Students and staff of the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center once again rise to the occasion. The East Kentucky Blood Center was on center Thursday, June 2, 2011, to conduct the quarterly blood drive. The students were waiting on the blood center when they arrived to get set up and begin a very successful day. There were 77 staff and students on hand to donate blood to save lives.
This is an event that Perkins Health Advocate students take great pride in. They organize the event with the Blood Center, schedule staff and students appointment times, do the sign-ins the day of the event, hand out snacks and other items needed by the Blood Center.
Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center won the award from the East Kentucky Blood Center in 2010 for the most units donated in Eastern Kentucky.
