On Thursday December 12th, 2013 Carl D. Perkins helds its December graduation ceremony in the gymnasium at the center. The center had twenty-four graduates who were in the ceremony with several of their family members driving hundreds of miles to share in their special day.
Former Kentucky Governor Paul Patton was the guest speaker for the event and talked about struggles in life and keep on working hard to achieve your dream. Following the ceremony, the graduates and their families enjoyed a recep tion in the Perkins café prepared by Chef Terry Marrs and the culinary arts class.
The day was a heartfelt one, with so many mothers, grandmothers, aunts and uncles thanking us for what we have done for their children, grandchildren, neices and nephews. They were so proud of the young men and women that they have become. The Center Director Thomas Rainey stated, “It is always wonderful, especially this time of year, for our students that have been in the program for nearly two years see them reach their goals”.
