The KY Job Corps Consortium that is made up of all the seven Job Corps Center’s Business Community Liaisons in KY had the opportunity to attend the KY Chamber Congressional Forum in Louisville, KY on August 29. The forum was an opportunity to bring the states federal officials to the community to discuss pressing issues. The business community liaisons talked with US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Congressman John Yarmuth about the KY Job Corps and the impact that all of the centers has on helping educate and train at risk youth in the state. The Group also presented Congressman John Yarmuth with a framed copy of the KY Job Corps Centers Youth2Youth (Y2Y) Partners4Peace Poster. The Y2Y program is an national anti-violence program that all Job Corps centers implements across the united states. Congressman Yarmuth has been a big supporter of the antiviolence program as well as the Job Corps program.
