Carl D. Perkins Job Corps celebrated the accomplishments of 23 new graduates during the center’s last commencement of 2016, held on Dec, 2. Graduation speaker Staff Sergeant Davin S. Ericson spoke about the opportunities available to the new graduates, and stressed that “it’s never too late to the things you want to do.” He emphasized the importance of hard work, saying “hard work is essential to success.”Erickson joined the Marine Corps in 2003 and has held multiple military occupations specialties during his career the marines.

Community members and family member and friends who travelled from Pennsylvania, West Virginia and through Kentucky were on hand to celebrate this milestone event with their graduates. Graduates and their families also enjoyed a reception following the ceremony that was prepared by the centers culinary class.
