On Tuesday September 15, 2015 the Perkins Culinary students gave their time and talent to assist with a charity luncheon to raise money for a homeless shelter in Floyd County, KY. The Saint James Church and other local organizations put on a barbecue luncheon with sides to raise money for the homeless shelter. Perkins students along with other community volunteers assisted with preparing the food, plating the lunches and fixing several to go boxes to be delivered to area residents and business. This is just one of many events for this much needed cause that Perkins will be assisting. The next event is run for shelter helping the homeless on November 7. Staff and students will be running in the event as well as assisting with parking and traffic control.
