American Red Cross Blood Drive

The Brunswick Job Corps Center partnered with the American Red Cross to conduct a blood drive on February 18, 2011. As a result of this effort, 51 donors were registered, 21 donors were deferred and 28 units were collected.
Ms. Arlene Jones, Brunswick Job Corps Center Medical Assisting instructor, and her students coordinated the drive.
“The efforts of Job Corps have always been greatly appreciated and their support of the community blood program will go a long way toward replenishing blood supplies and ultimately saving lives,” said Skip Slocum, Southern Region Donor Recruitment Representative.
The Brunswick Job Corps Center is now working with the Red Cross to help promote the “Help Save Lives and Spring to the Skies!” blood and platelet program that will run from April 1 to June 30, 2011. Also, the next blood drive at the center is scheduled for April 29, 2011.
