Students from the Brooklyn Job Corps Center participated alongside the local newspaper, Our Time Press, in a service project in the park.  Several students from Brooklyn Job Corps served as center ambassadors during the yearly celebration of Arbor Day.   A student representative and member of the centers Green Committee, spoke to event organizers and local school officials about the green initiatives that the Brooklyn Job Corps Academy has in place on center.   During this highly publicized event, 29 students from the Brooklyn Job Corps Center took part in teh park clean-up.
