Boxelder Job Corps’ students attend Lecture, meet U.S. Senator John Thune

While attending a lecture event at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Campus on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, three students from the Boxelder Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center had the opportunity to meet and visit with U.S. Senator John Thune.

The event featured the Hon. David M. Walker with his presentation entitled, “Making Sense of Our Nation’s Fiscal Challenges and Possible Solutions.”  Students Sara Sakpe, Doug Jones and Adriane Two Hearts attended the lecture as part of their High School Government Class.

“It was really neat to see community members engaged on the topic of our debt,” commented Doug Jones, a carpentry student who is also pursuing his High School Diploma.  “It was really cool to meet the Senator, too!”
