On April 11, 2018, representatives from Blue Ridge Job Corps, Rose Alexander, Susan Ferraro, and Jordan Loupe, participated in the 2018 Smyth County Opportunity Fair in Chilhowie, VA, organized by the Smyth County Chamber of Commerce. The annual event is part of an initiative to promote variety of opportunities for students and job seekers in and around Smyth County.
Organizations in attendance included educational entities such as Smyth County Career and Technology Center and Virginia Highlands Community College, healthcare entities such as Smyth County Community Hospital and Team Nurse, as well as representatives from the offices of Senator Tim Kaine and Congressman Morgan Griffith.
The event was open to the public from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., and saw job seekers and students alike come through the doors to hear about the fantastic opportunities at Blue Ridge Job Corps and throughout the community.
