Blue Ridge (Serrato Corp) students assist with program to help underprivileged families

On July 27, 2016 students from the Blue Ridge Job Corps filled grocery bag with non-perishable food that will be distributed to underprivileged families. Upon receiving information from Blue Ridge Job Corps Center’ Accounting Clerk Kate Perdue, about a community service opportunity with the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Mike Steele immediately set up the new site. For several years, the Ebenezer Lutheran Church has run the Backpack Program that targets Kindergarten, & First graders at four local elementary school providing healthy meals and snacks to the children each Friday to take home for the week-end. The program runs though the entire year and serves over ninety families each week.
