Blue Ridge Honored for Volunteer Efforts for the Fight Against Hunger in Southwest Virginia

During the Annual Luncheon for Feeding America-Southwest Virginia, Blue Ridge Job Corps Center received an award for the volunteer efforts that students have participed in over the last year.

Every week, 10 Blue Ridge students travel for a day trip to the warehouse of Feeding America in Abingdon, Virginia to packed boxes filled with food and supplied to be distributed to families of Southwest Virginia who are facing poverty stricken times.

Our students have sorted and packed over several tons of food and supplies and continue their efforts every week.
