Innovative Educational Programs recently visited the Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps Center to secure employment applicants and conduct orientation for workers. Twenty former students and five current students will earn money for canvassing the local community to ask parents and guardians to sign their children up for free tutoring. The students were asked to role play various scenarios during orientation to prepare for their first day of work. Several permanent positions are available through this initiative, which is part of No Child Left Behind. The organization does free after-school tutoring for targeted schools where students are performing below the national average on national tests.
