As we celebrate National Veterans Awareness Week, Barranquitas Job Corps Academy Security Trade went to visit La Casa del Veterano in Juana Diaz. This is a residential home for Veterans and their spouses, if they have any. We gave them decorated cupcakes with both American and Puerto Rican flags and some conversation as an appreciation for their service. They were so happy just to see us there and be able to talk to us!! So if you get a chance , visit a Vets home, spend some time with them and hear their stories, they have a lot to say. We met a 92 year old man, veteran of three wars, WW2, Korea anv Vietnam, he was givent the Purple Heart and he’s still alive to tell us his story. This was amazing!!
