On June 22, 2012 Barranquitas Job Corps EMT Academy students made EMS History on the island of Puerto Rico-being the first students ever to not only complete a National EMS Education Standard program, but also take the National Registry of EMT exam. The students underwent 7 months of intense courses and it all payed off. This being the first time this exam was offered in PR, evaluators were brought to PR for the practical exam and last week the students took the CBT National Exam in San Juan. All of the students are planning to either go to the United States for employment or join the military, 1 of which joined the Army National Guard prior to even completing. We are all very proud of these students and are very excited to see where their future takes them!
