On August 27, 2015, Barranquitas Job Corps Academy held its 2015 former enrollee graduation ceremony. Even though, Puerto Rico was under a severe storm watch, 61 students and various members of the community attended the activity. Several former enrollees received recognitions for their excellent performance, hard work, leadership, among others in different departments, Academic, Vocational, CDSS, Security and Transportation, Food Services, ect. One student specifically is Leslie M. Ortiz from the Retail Sales Trade. She was recognized for Academic Excellence by obtaining a 4.00 GPA and for Outstanding in the Retail Sales. Throughout her stay in the program, she worked really hard in both academic and vocational classes, had great enthusiasm, initiative, responsibility and was very proud of her accomplishments. Currently, Leslie is studying to become a Registered Nurse at InterAmerican University, Barranquitas Campus.
