THE PROM, A TIME TO REMEMBER

The Bamberg Job Corps Center annual prom on May 6, 2010 was a night to remember.  The SGA (Student Government Association) spent many weeks organizing and planning to make this day a special day and a lasting event in the minds of the students.  The SGA decorated the gym with gold/silver streamers, black/gold/silver balloons and black-star paper was truly breathtaking.  With the D.J. for entertainment, the finger food for munching and the picture taking of the students made it all a wonderful occasion.
The prom is always an exciting time for students.  There is so much anticipation in the air.  Females prepare for the occasion in advance by getting their pretty dresses, getting their hair styled and constantly search to find the right pair of heels to match the dress.  Males also prepare by buying their suits and getting the fresh hair-cut.  Students always look forward to the opportunity to dress-up.
Students also look forward to the crowing of queen and king for this 2010 year of the prom.  This year’s winners were Porcha Baker, queen and Akeem Simpson, king.  Porcha who is from Florida is at 99% of the Office Administration trade.  She now has her GED and looks forward to full completion. Akeem Simpson who is from Greenwood, South Carolina is about 85% completion in the Plumbing trade.  He will be taking his GED (General Educational Development) soon.
