The Bamberg Job Corps assisted with a Community Summer youth Retreat which was on the grounds of the center.  One of our recent community service events that happened on June 20th from 4:00 p.m. -7:30 p.m., was the Summer Youth Retreat that was held in the Bamberg Job Corps Gymnasium.  The event was for the youth ages 13 years old and up.  The Director of Benedict College Gospel Choir, Darryl Izzard and other facilitators along with the students at the center and visiting guests made this event a great one for the community.  Some of the topics that were discussed were Facebook Freaks, Twitter Talk, Manhood, Love, Sex & Purity, Relationships, Pure Success and More.  The workshops lasted for about an hour.  The concert started at 6:30 p.m.  This was really a great community event for youth and adults.

When the workshops were completed, Bamberg Job Corps students and the community enjoyed a concert featuring the award winning Benedict Gospel Choir. There were prizes, games food and fun at no cost to the community.  The students commented that they truly enjoyed themselves, and they learned a lot from the motivational talks that were presented by the facilitators.  This was the first time that Bamberg Job Corps had an event of this magnitude, but it will be the beginning of a many more to come to the Bamberg Job Corps students and the community in the future.
