The Bamberg female cadets enjoyed their first of many Pow Wows on Thursday, October 13th at 2:30 p.m. Students received information from Amber Lee, Family Planning Specialist/Client Navigator of Low Country Healthy Start who informed students about Parenting and Sexually transmitted diseases. Students received a very thorough workshop of “Good Parenting,” Sexually transmitted diseases and 50 things you need to know about STD’s.
The workshop was to keep the students informed and aware about the programs that will be beneficial to students who have children and also to be to receive facts about the many STD’s, how a person can see the early signs, ways of treating it and how to take care of themselves to in prevention of STD’s. STD’s are chlamydia, herpes, HPV, gonorrhea, syphilis, hepatitis B and HIV. Ms. Lee stated, the importance of the workshop is for students to protect themselves because they are worth it.
