The Bamberg Job Corps sends two Student Government Students to attend a four day SGA Leadership Conference in Washington, DC from February 1st-4th. The students, Patience Connelley, President of SGA and Eddie Scott, Vice President of SGA flew out on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from the Columbia Airport. They were assisted by Evelyn Stanley, the Business Community Liaison. The first day of the Leadership Training, students enjoy dinner and a movie. On Wednesday, February 2nd, students attend the Smithsonian Anacostia Museum, Fredrick Douglass National Historic Site. They also received training on topics such as Professionalism, Workplace Diversity, Promotable Skills, and Workplace diversity. On Thursday, February 3rd, students visit the Holocaust Museum and tour the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Friday, February 4th, students take tour of the city and prepare to leave Washington, D.C.
Students at the Bamberg Job Corps Center enjoyed their trip. Patience Connelley, SGA President stated, “I learned a lot and I had fun.”
