The Bamberg Job Corps Center hosts the annual Bamberg Chamber Banquet on Thursday, October 27th in which Governor Nikki Haley was the keynote speaker. She also had the opportunity to visited the center and speak with the Center Director, Eric Jones, Evelyn Stanley, BCL and other upper management staff. Governor Haley is a native of Bamberg County states that “she will always remember her roots.”
There were over 300 people who attended this event. The banquet was held in the evening at 6:00 p.m. Our Culinary Arts Department prepared the meal. The BJCC choir sung one song under the direction of the director, Teresa Aiken, Finance Manager here for the center and student Brittany Blocker sung the “National Anthem.”
During her speech, Governor Haley emphasized the importance of bringing jobs to Bamberg County and other surrounding rural areas of the state, tax reform, education funding changes and other subjects.
