The Bamberg Job Corps Center Facilities Maintenance staff and students of this trade designed an Oyster Table for the Arts Festival that was held on March 19, 2011 in Bamberg. Facilities Maintenance is one of the nine trades that are offered at Job Corps.
Francis Johnson, a board member with the Special Needs and Disability Board requested the services of the Job Corps students. She informed the Facilities Maintenance instructor, Henry Winter that she needed an Oyster Table and it must be built with special measurements. The staff and students completed the task to perfection.. Staff and students are always excited when it comes to displaying their talents. They are eager to learn and dedicated to serving others. Mr. Winters stated that “the students in this trade are doing great things. Presently, they are building dog houses to auction off to the highest bidder.”
The staff and students in the picture beginning from Left to right are—Henry Winter, Facilities Maintenance Instructor, Trevor Ashford, Frazier Pratt, Rakeem Dash, Phillip McClary, Trevor Moore, Daquan Moore, Christopher Jefferson, Javontay Bryant, Catara Davis, Shahonna McKoy and Matthew Burt. This Oyster Table is one that the town of Bamberg can for next year’s Art Festival.
The Bamberg Job Corps Center is always willing to assist in the community in anyway we can. The community works well with assisting Job Corps in their activities and festivities.
