Residential Advisor, Mr. Haymon, asked a connection, meteorologist from WRTV channel 6 News, Ashley Brown, to come and speak to the Atterbury female population on the centers “Ladies Night”. Ashley attended Ball State and Vincennes University for college. After obtaining her degree she became the first female African-American Meteorologist in the State of Indiana. Ashley stated the journey has been tough and she had to fight for every position she got. she also spoke about making the right choices in life and he importance of following your dream. Ashley told the young ladies about how her father wasn’t there in her life and spoke to them about how to deal with their anger, not letting anyone make them upset, or deter them from obtain their goals! We thank Ashley Brown for taking the time out of her busy schedule and inspiring our young ladies to become future success story’s!
