Atterburys downtown Indianapolis sister center, called IndyPendence, held a Center Industry Council meeting that focused on the C.N.A. trade on Thursday January 29th. A “CIC” as we call it, is a meeting where Job Corps enlists the input from Industry experts in an employment field to ensure we are providing rigorous and relevant training. Its also a great opportunity for those experts to meet our students and see our programs. The agenda included 3 star students. Tiffany Bates is working a full time, JTM job at $12.00 a hour and has a part time job as well. Brandy Akins and LaPeaches Davis are current students who just completed their C.N.A. program and will sit for the state exam on February 13th. All three young ladies spoke about the success they have had while being enrolled at IndyPendence and thanked all the staff that help them along the way. We want to give a special thanks to Brandi London and Kellee Harney Co-Owners of Hardon Educational Institute as well as the fantastic instructors of the C.N.A program. We are so grateful to have you as part of our team and special thanks to our industry partners that attended to learn about our program.
