The purpose of this Community Relations Council Luncheon was to celebrate our Work Based Learning site Internship Partners for providing students the opportunity to go through a 6 week internship at their place of business in order to develop real-life hands-on skills, practice professionalism, and develop true work ethics. Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to Amy Mancini of Mactac Adhesives Manufacturing for “Newest WBL Site” and “Largest Percentage Hired”, for offering employment to 3 of the 3 new interns that completed the 6 week program. Toyota Industrial ties with MacTac for “Largest Percentage Hired” with 3 out of 3 Welding students offered employment. “The WBL Mentor Award” went to Don Taylor of “Insights” Magazine who has been supporting WBL Interns for 3 years now. These Quarterly CRC Luncheons are a vital way we establish an ongoing effort of collaboration in order to provide students better services and training, to be responsive to the needs of the community, and to enhance our training programs by learning from the industry experts about the latest trends and technologies.
