ATTERBURY KIC-IT WITH NEW YOUTH OUTREACH PARTNERSHIP

As part of our ongoing Outreach and Recruitment efforts, this week Atterbury Job Corps connected with KIC-IT (Kids In Crisis – Intervention Team). KIC-IT began to provide services in the Fall of 2009, for teens and young adults who were homeless or couch-surfing. They provide outreach and case management to at-risk and homeless youth, ages 16-25, in Johnson County. Our BCL Director held initial talks with Kim Spurling, the Executive Director of KIC-IT, and there is excitement about the opportunities for Atterbury to support KIC-IT’s population with Education and Job Training services. The 14 Trade programs offered at Job Corps and the support we provide youth to become enrolled into College, the Military, Advanced Training Programs, or assistance with finding Employment is a huge benefit for the youth that KIC-IT works with, since many times they do not have these resources on their own. With further collaborations already in the works it appears to be an ongoing partnership that will help better serve youth in Johnson County, Indiana!
