The Atterbury Job Corps Construction Trades were presented the “2015 Community Service Award” from the Franklin Chamber of Commerce at an Annual Banquet held at Indiana Masonic Home Compass Park Community Center. Atterbury was proud to have our BCL Director Jeff Byrd, our CTT Manager Travis Cooke, and HBI Trade Representatives, Bill Bumgarner, Fred DePalma, and Instrctor Roy Sellers, as well as HBI Student Troy Parks present. The HBI Facility Maintenance Trade was involved in nearly every project we have tackled in the community. On this day our good friends and community partner, Franklin Heritage/Artcraft Theatre, were also recognized with the “2015 Community Impact Award”, for the improvements they have made to their facilities, and the cultural programming they have provided over the past several years that has brought additional business to the downtown Franklin Community. In the past several years Atterbury Job Corps Construction Trade Students have assisted several non-profit organizations by donating Free skilled labor of its student body. We have engaged the community to establish these hands-on training opportunities and thereby providing these Non-profits thousands of dollars in savings, along with the ability to complete projects, and accomplish goals that may not have been possible without Atterbury’s assistance.
