Atlanta Job Corps Center student success stories

Lisa Stedham started life, out in the Foster Care program at the age seven. After a rocky and abusive childhood Lisa tried hard to discover herself by enrolling into the Atlanta Job Corps Center. She entered the program with a high school diploma and received a certification in Finance and Business. Near completion of the program, she was placed on WBL and assigned to the US Department of Labor’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Financial Management Division. Her supervisor is Al Collins, who was so impressed with her employability skills that he offered her a position as an Office Automation Assistant. She had only been on WBL for four weeks before being offered a full time position. Lisa, credits the AJCC for her success by giving her the opportunity to strive and to learn life skills for employment and to meet the demands of the workforce.
