Anaconda, MT–Anaconda Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (JCCCC) assists the Anaconda Deer Lodge County and local Garden Club each year to enhance the appearance of the business district for merchants, visitors, shoppers, and all passers-by.
In the spring, as part of the annual Street Tree Project, Anaconda JCCCC staff and students help plant new and prune existing native tree species. When any of the tree guards that were built by the welding apprentice trainees need attention, they will assist with the maintenance.
In the summer, Anaconda JCCCC staff and students help the local Garden Club hang planters they fill with flowers throughout the downtown area. Welding instructors and apprentice trainees take pride in the baskets they make as well as the fabrications from which the planters hang.
Most recently, amidst the wintery backdrop of snow and ice, Anaconda JCCCC staff and students got to be part of the local Garden Club’s newest endeavors to beautify.
